With almost 20 years experience in teaching & coaching all ages and abilities. Our founder has spent the last 10 years learning annd studying about the business of coaching. Initially starting as a part time coach of football, basketball & multisports, Tom then spent several years managing one of Hong Kong’s largest youth leagues before then overseeing elite footballing programmes at Kowloon Cricket Club & Asia Pacific Soccer Schools. During these 10 years, Tom went from part-time coach to technical director of some of the biggest footballing programmes in Hong Kong. He also dedicated his time to his own personal development acquiring his UEFA A license in 2024 and has participated in many elite level workshops and study tours to top academies in the UK. He has worked with and learnt from many influences across the world of sport both in Hong Kong and elsewhere from around the world.

The idea to start LionRock Sports came because we truly feel that we can make a difference and that we have something to offer that is currrently missing in the Hong Kong market. Unfortunately, too often a player’s development is limited by the coaches fear of failure. As such, Tom felt the solution would be to start LionRock Sports, a coaching company focussed on putting the athlete first - ahead of the coach. Making the aim to be about the player and their development rather than the coach. Helping to grow successful leaders within sport, that have clear transferable skills that will benefit them throughout their life. With this in mind we also aim to help bring coach education to a better level within Hong Kong. Working with some of the best names in Coach development, we hope to run CPD workshops throughout the year to help educate coaches on latest trends in coaching.

We‘ll be bringing our player-centred approach to a number of sports. Initially focussing on football, basketball, running & multisports, but we hope to add many more through the coming years, so watch this space!
